Courses

Universal Barber College is licensed by the Arizona Board of Barbers. The curriculum is designed to enhance a student’s learning in the following ways:

Classroom Setting- Students learn the theory of barbering.

Practicum Settings- Students have hands-on experience with the public for developing hair cutting, shaving and chemical usage skills.

Requirements: Be a high school graduate or possess a GED.

Barber Instructor

In order to work as a Barber Instructor in the State of Arizona, an individual must possess a Barber License and have worked as a Barber for 2 years. In order to obtain a Barber Instructor License, the individual must complete 450 Clock Hours. The course is designed to teach in the classroom and practical management under the supervision of a licensed instructor. Upon completion of the course, the graduate will possess the required knowledge, skills, and teaching techniques to pass the Arizona State Board of Barbers Examination and ability to work as a Barber Instructor.

Barber Stylist- Level 1

In order to work as a Barber Stylist in the State of Arizona, an individual must possess a Barber License. In order to obtain a license, the individual must complete 1500 Clock Hours of Barber Stylist Training in a Licensed Barber School. The course is taught with combination of lecture, demonstration, student practice, and experience on the public under the supervision of a licensed instructor.

Upon completion of the course, the graduate will possess the required knowledge and skills to pass the Arizona Board of Barbers Examination and obtain suitable employment in the field of Barbering.

State Required Hours: 1500

Barber Stylist- Level 2

In order to work as a Barber Stylist in the State of Arizona, an individual must possess a Barber Stylist License, the individual who has a Cosmetologist License must complete 750 clock hours of Barber Training in a Licensed Barber School. The course is taught with the combination of lecture and demonstration. The students practice on the general public under the supervision of a licensed instructor.
Upon completion of the course, the graduate will possess the required knowledge and skills to pass the Arizona State Board of Barbers Examination and obtain suitable employment in the field of Barbering.
